We are excited to announce the release of our latest firmware, 1.5.0, which brings a whole range of improvements and features to the watch.
From the ability to switch watch faces to improved menu navigation, we feel this is yet another big step forward for us and anyone who uses UNA.
New Features
- Watch Faces: choose your home-screen face from a full-screen preview, with five new faces: Analogue, Retro, Peak, Smile and Console.
- Compass: a new compass with quick on-watch calibration; the bearing stays accurate even when your wrist is tilted. This can be calibrated in Settings > Sensors.
- Refreshed shortcuts menu: the top-button menu has a cleaner layout, orders itself by what you use most, and holds more shortcuts.
Improved & fixed
- Activities now end exactly at the point you paused.
- Better alarm snoozing functionality
- Correct lap numbering, a heart-rate-zone fix, and general stability improvements.
For Developers
- LVGL GUI support: build app interfaces with LVGL as an alternative to TouchGFX, with a new RunLVGL example, LVGL versions of the tutorials, and PC-simulator support.
- App configuration: declare validated config fields with SDK::AppConfig (checked in CI); new Waypoint tutorial.
- Magnetometer API: read the new magnetometer via the MAGNETIC_FIELD sensor types.
- minKernelVersion derived from the SDK ABI: the packaging tooling now sets an app's minimum-firmware floor automatically instead of hand-authoring it.
- Smaller app binaries: the C++ exception runtime is no longer linked into every app, and fonts are trimmed to what each app renders.
